Mark Lanegan Band – 4AD Session


 
The man with the dim and profoundly howling baritone voice, Mark Lanegan, returned with his seventh studio album entitled Blues Funeral in February.
 
Backing Mr. Lanegan on the album is the superior Mark Lanegan Band that includes noteworthy players and longtime collaborators Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Greg Dulli from Twilight Singers in addition to former Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons.
 
The band just recorded a 4AD Session including four songs from Blues Funeral.
 

FM Belfast – Stripes


 
Iceland electro pop quintet FM Belfast have premiered a brand new video for the opening track from their excellent second album of 2011, Don’t Want Go To Sleep. ‘Stripes’ was directed by Steinar Júlíusson who also did the animation with Oscar Gränse.
 
FM Belfast is playing numerous music festivals in Europe this summer and they’re also preparing a new single that’s due on Morr Music later this summer.
 

Sébastien Tellier – Cochon Ville


 
Cochon Ville is the first single taken from Sébastien Tellier‘s new album “My God Is Blue” that will be available soon worldwide from Parisian label Record Makers. The single features the original and three remixes of this great song, including this one by former Aeroplane leader The Magician.

Daughter – Medicine


 
The London-based trio Daughter has signed to 4AD Records. Daughter consists of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella and they’re currently working on their debut full length that’s due later this year. Daughter will perfom at this year’s Iceland Airwaves Music Festival.
 
Here’s them performing their song “Medicine” from their The Wild Youth EP.

Anthony Fantano, a.k.a. the internet’s busiest music nerd, has put together a playlist for gogoyoko. Anthony is the main man behind the blog and public radio show The Needle Drop.
 
The busiest music nerd is not an understatement as he’s always on top of everything that’s noticeable within rock, pop, electronic, hip hop and experimental music on his weekly radio show and on his Youtube Channel.
 
The playlist features series of songs and artists that Anthony had never heard of before. He found them exploring through the thousands of albums on gogoyoko.

Tilbury – Tenderloin

Tilbury have premiered a new music video for their excellent debut single, Tenderloin. The video features clips from the Icelandic TV-film by Viðar Víkingsson, Tilbury (1987). Based on the short story Tilbury by Þórarinn Eldjárn. The video was edited by 10.000 milligrömm.
 
Their debut album will be available via Record Records on May 7th and it will be available exclusively on gogoyoko on May 3rd.

The beloved and well respected record label, Morr Music, is operated out of Berlin, Germany. It has built a great reputation for it's tenacious and well considered aesthetics regarding aural and visual art. Early on they released music in the IDM, laptronica and dreampop realms but it has, like every good label, expanded and embraced different styles.
 
Morr Music's eclectic roster includes artists like Lali Puna, múm, Sóley, Sin Fang, The Go Find, Radical Face, Sole, Electric President and so many more.
